The Meriden Soup Kitchen, a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, relies on the generosity of donors. With ongoing economic hardship for many within Meriden’s adult and child population, the number of meals served both daily and annually continues to increase. For many clients, this mid-day meal is the only significant meal received by those individuals.

Expenses increase as the number of those served increases. Cost items include food products, paper products, custodial services, trash disposal, and insurance.

Great care is taken by MSK volunteers to obtain food items, paper products and cleaning materials at reduced cost (or at no cost). With no paid staff at the MSK, all monetary resources can be directed at meeting those expenses.

Donors include foundations, places of worship, businesses, civic organizations, schools, the annual Post Office drive, and individual donors.
